Summary: Ah, here's an old modern fairy tale that no doubt wowed and terrified children back in the 80s. It's a story of self-discovery, fantasy, and braving the very worst of danger and nihilism.
History: The mystical world of Fantasia is in trouble. It is being slowly but surely consumed by the Nothing, the living physical embodiment of the loss of childhood innocence. Only the brave young Atreyu can stop it by finding the Childlike Empress and curing her of her illness. But all is not what it seems. This is a story being read by introverted Bastion Balthazar Bux, who seems to have a special connection to the world this story takes place in.
Notable Kills: The Nothing comes THIS close to engulfing all of Fantasia, but...
Final Fate:...after its servant, the Gmork, is killed by Atreyu, Bastion realizes that he's the one to stop the Nothing by naming the Empress and wishing it all back. He does so, and even gains the ability to bring characters from the story to life, which he does with Falkor. The end. Nothing happened afterwards. No sequels. None. Ignore what lies below here. Forget it. Trust the narrator and accept Fantasia's future as "another story".
Powers/Abilities: The Nothing destroys all it touches.
Weakness: Anything conventional, though the Nothing can only be deterred by the innocence of a real-life mortal.
Scariness Factor: 3-While the other Fantasian creatures are mostly friendly, quirky, and helpful beings, the Nothing and the Gmork stand out in their own ways. One is everything you ever feared about growing up, and the other is the reason people are scared of feral hounds in the first place.
Trivia: -THERE ARE NO SEQUELS! PERIOD!!!!! But for your sake, we nabbed some images from the concentrated evils masquerading as sequels below.
-There is only one part of Falkor's prop that remains. It is his head's side view, which is at Bavaria Film Studios for tourists to pretend to ride on.
